This class will be taught by Glenn N3EH, and Bob N6USP
This class describes how the D-Star system operates and provides guidance for setting up your transceiver.
Topics that will be discussed.
Describing D-Star mode of operation:
Learn how to program your radio
Learn how to use call sign routing and its programming
Learn how to set up and do repeater linking
Learn how to use the reflectors and their usage protocols
Learn how to use the D-Star calculator
Learn how to use the DV-Dongle
The Icom IC 2200H, ID-2820H, ID-880H will be used for this class to help understand how to program and operate the radios.
D-Star is an evolving technology.
Thanks to improvements made by Icom and the effort of many hams creating and maintaining programs such as Dplus, D*Chat, and D-Rats.
D-Star’s communications capabilities are far improved from several years ago.
Following the D-Star Class, we will give a short presentation on D-Rats EmComm using D-Star Digital Data.
These are very informative class and is highly recommended that you attend this class to learn more on D-Star Digital Voice and Data.
