Ham Radio License Manual Revised 2nd Edition
Book and CD-ROM. All you need to become an Amateur Radio Operator!

Revised 2nd Edition! Includes practice exam software on CD-ROM.

Get your FIRST ham radio license!

Discover the excitement of ham radio. The Amateur Radio Service offers a unique mix of public service, technology and experimenting with electronics–all with an emphasis on fun. Some hams use their skills to provide communications during emergencies and disasters when all else fails. Others enjoy talking to people across the country and around the globe, participating in local contests and building experiments. The ARRL Ham Radio License Manual will guide you as you get started in the hobby–as you select your equipment, set-up your first station and make your first contact.

Use this book to study for your license exam. Every page presents information you will need to pass the exam and become an effective operator. You'll cover small sections at a time:

At the end of the book, you'll find the entire Technician Question Pool.

With this guide as a reference-you'll be on the air in no time! You'll turn to it again and again as you begin your journey into the exciting world of Amateur Radio.

I highly recommend this book.

General Class License Manual Revised 6th Edition

The General Class license is the second of three US Amateur Radio licenses. To upgrade to General Class, you must already hold a Technician Class license (or have recently passed the Technician license exam). Upgrading to a General license--which conveys extensive HF privileges—only requires passing a written examination. Once you do, the entire range of operating modes and the majority of the amateur spectrum below 30 MHz become available to you.

 Extra Class Study Manual

Gordon’s new Extra Class study manual for the 2008-12 Element 4 exam has a host of new features to make it easier to get to the top! The new Element 4 pool has 738 questions, down from 787 in the old pool – 6% fewer questions, but is a significantly updated and improved question pool. There are about 100 brand-new questions, and the Q&A have been rewritten to dramatically improve the exam content to better reflect the Extra Class privileges, operation, equipment and antennas. As in his Technician and General Class books, Gordo has i>reorganized the Element 4 Q&A into logical topic groups to follow the syllabus of his famous Radio School ham class – and KEY WORDS are highlighted in BLUE throughout the book.
